Savings Consciousness Week

CIRCULAR LETTER Series of 1994

TO : All Banking Institutions

Under amended Presidential Proclamation No. 380, dated May 15, 1994, the period June 30 to July 6, 1994, and every year thereafter, is declared Savings Consciousness Week, to promote a continuing awareness in the minds of our people the vital role of savings in the country's economic progress and development.

To ensure the successful observance of Savings Consciousness Week, relevant publicity and attention-generating activities from the banking sector will be essential elements thereof. All banking institutions, therefore, and their branches may undertake during the said week, such activities as raffles, distribution of giveaways, putting up of window or counter displays, streamers, ad placements and the use of other promotional devices and incentives as may be appropriate for this special occasion. For purposes of a unified campaign, banks are also requested to incorporate the slogan "Itaguyod ang Philippines 2000. Mag-impok sa Bangko" and the words "Savings Consciousness Week" in their promotional materials and print advertisements during the period.
