Thrift Stamp Savings Week
CIRCULAR LETTER Series of 1996
TO : All Banking Institutions
In order to promote a continuing awareness of the benefits of thrift and the role of savings as crucial elements toward national reliance and independence and pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 694 dated 21 November 1995, the period November 21 to 27 of each year is declared as Thrift Stamp Savings Week. This is part of the Thrift Stamp Program which is being implemented to encourage the Filipino people, especially the youth, to save money by buying thrift stamps in Post Offices and using these as initial deposit with the Phil. Postal Savings Bank, Inc.
In observance of the Thrift Stamps Savings Week, Thrift Parades will be held in Cagayan de Oro City on November 22, in Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban on November 25, and in Manila, Dagupan, Tuguegarao, Malolos, Naga City and Baguio City on November 27. To ensure the success of this drive, all banking institutions and their branches are thus enjoined to support the various activities during the Thrift Stamp Savings Week.
