British Columbia's New Hourly Minimum Wage Rate of $17.40 and Reiteration of No Placement Fee Policy in Canada
the new hourly minimum wage rate for lowest-paid workers, residential caretakers live-in home support workers, and camp leaders in the Province is from $16.75 to $17.40 per hour.The new rate is a 3.9% increase from the British Columbia's average inflation rate in 2023 The British Columbia government has announced that effective 01 June 2024
the minimum wage for the hours they worked, the employer must top up their payment hourly, salary, commission or on an incentive basis. If an employee's wage is below so that the said pay egual to the current minimum wage The minimum wage applies regardless of how employees are paid whether on
offers and to transact only with a licensed Philippine recruitment agency. Charging or collecting of recruitment fees for deployment to British Columbia and other provinces of Canada is also prohibited since Canada has a"no placement fee policy"for all types Of workers.
